Kalras Educational Trust
purely a secular, non political
organization was established in
1964 by Sh. S.P. Kalra,
a renowned Educationist, as its
chairman and registered in 1986
with an ultimate objective to
impart quality education to the
students of all the sections of
the society. Initially the trust
established a high school namely
NEHRU MEMORIAL ACADEMY
in 1964 and finally the same has
now developed into a full fledged
Senior Secondary school
affiliated to J&K State Board of
School Education. Kalras College
of Education was set up in the
year 2000 and is being run by
KALRAS EDUCATIONAL TRUST, which
is in the field of education for
47 years. |

| Introduction Of the College |
The New
National Educational policy
demanded Secondary School
Teachers of special aptitude towards the profession enabling
them to prepare the students to
seek knowledge and creativity
turning them into true citizens
mastering the art of living
together peacefully with
fraternity, nationality and
humanity.
With this aim in view,
KALRAS EDUCATIONAL TRUST, dreamt
of comprehensive College of
Education to prepare Secondary
School Teachers, having broad
vision and nationalistic
attitude fully aware of global
contemporary development in the
field of education and
knowledge. The college is
recognized and affiliated to the
University of Jammu, which is a
NACC accredited A grade
university, to conduct a
co-educational full time B. Ed
course with effect from the
session 2000-01.
The college stands
approved by the J&K govt. vide
No. HE/ Recog. /40/99 dated
30.9.1999 and affiliated to the
University vide No.
CDC/V/152/3177-90 dated
24.07.2000 for imparting
instruction in Bachelor of
Education Course and has
sufficient infrastructural base
as per UGC/University norms to
cater to the needs of students
according to requirements of the
Govt. and University of Jammu.

Location of the College |
| Kalra
College of Education is located
at Udhampur, which is one of the
biggest districts in the state
of Jammu & Kashmir. It is at a
distance of 65kms from Jammu. it
takes around two hours to reach
here from Jammu by public
transport and about one hour by
rail route. Udhampur is the head
quarter of the Northern Command
of the Indian Army, which makes
it a safe and secure district.
Nature is at its best in the
town with pollution free
environment providing healthy
atmosphere to facilitate
